Project Type: Bathrooms, Kitchen
Project Duration: 3.5 months
This full-home renovation in The Overlook at Mountain Isle Lake began with a traditional layout that felt closed off, dark, and out of sync with the incredible lakefront views. The kitchen was tucked away behind walls and filled with bulky cabinetry, while the primary bathroom featured oversized tile and a built-in tub that limited both function and style.
To improve the overall flow and maximize natural light, we opened up the wall between the kitchen and living room—creating a bright, open-concept layout ideal for both daily living and entertaining. The new kitchen features custom white cabinetry, a warm wood range hood, and a large central island designed for gathering. Wide sightlines now lead straight to the lake, and the living room is fully integrated with updated built-ins, cozy furnishings, and expansive windows that showcase the view.
In the primary bath, we removed the outdated tub and closed-in shower, replacing them with a spacious glass-enclosed shower and a freestanding soaking tub. Soft, modern finishes add warmth and elegance, while natural light filters through to highlight the wooded surroundings.
We also remodeled the home office, powder room, and added a custom wine bar—bringing continuity and modern comfort to every corner of the home. This whole-home remodel blends functionality, style, and thoughtful design details that reflect the homeowners’ lifestyle and take full advantage of the waterfront setting.
